On July 22-28 the All-Russian Festival "ASB FEST" organized by the Association of Student Basketball was held in Alushta.

Our University was represented by a VyatSU-2 women's team (Tatiana Novokshonova, Olga Dranitsyna, Elvira Balagurovskaya, Ekaterina Vostrikova) and a men's team player Alexander Koryakin.

Totally 28 male and 31 female teams from all over Russia have participated in the basketball tournament. Thanks to its confident game a team of Vladislav Poperyokov won bronze medals in these competitions. A similar result was achieved by Vyatka State Agriculture Academy team; it was strengthened by VyatSU player Alexander Koryakin.

Olga Dranitsyna from VyatGU-2 team says:

"We had not set any specific goals before. Our task was to show a decent game and compete with the strongest teams of the ASB. Six of seven games ended up in extra time. It was hard emotionally. There was no right to make a mistake. We played like a real team, acted cohesively and always supported each other. Therefore, it led us to the result we got".

Also during "ASB FEST" our girls passed the GTO standards (so called Ready for Labour and Defence). VyatSU students received silver badges after completing six separate exercises (passes, high-speed dribbling, physical parameters, throwing from a middle distance and throwing in motion).
