The assembly was the key event of the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism in Kirov. Fourteen years ago, the world shuddered at the terrible tragedy that occurred in the south of Russia, in North Ossetia. The school assembly, dedicated to the beginning of the new academic year, turned for its participants into a real hell, lasting almost three days. Not only the whole of Russia was worried about children and adults who became hostages of terrorists - the whole world was waiting for an outcome and hoping for a happy outcome. But it did not happen: 333 people (including rescuers) were killed, among them 186 children.

Already in the following 2005 year September, 3 was set as a memorable date - The Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism. Every year, millions of people across the country remember Beslan and light candles in memory of the victims of the tragedy at School № 1. Today at the Theater Square in Kirov was a school assembly dedicated to the memory of the victims of Beslan and gathered students of all educational institutions of Kirov. The Governor of the Kirov region Igor Vasiliev appealed to the youth and called to remember the terrible tragedy and do everything to prevent it from happening again.

The President of Vyatka State University Valery Yungblyud was among the honored guests who spoke before the students of schools, lyceums, gymnasiums and cadet corps.

"We must understand that the fight against terrorism is not just a matter for law enforcement. This is our common cause - we all must be consistent in opposing evil. The world depends on you and me”, - Valery Teodorovich said.

At the end of the assembly, white balloons flew into the sky - under the words of the song about "children carried away by the winds of an undeclared, unnamed war." Let this war never happen again, and terrorism in any of its manifestations gets a timely rebuff - for the sake of the happiness and well-being of civilians.
