An actual information is broadcast during the implementation of the advanced training program “Biomonitoring as a means of increasing the environmental competence of education workers of the natural science cycle”

These days, the Vyatka State University is implementing the advanced training program “Biomonitoring as a means of increasing the environmental competence of workers in the natural science cycle”. This year the largest university of the Kirov region won the competition of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for training scientific, pedagogical workers and specialists of employing organizations for the implementation of continuing education programs within the framework of the federal project “New opportunities for everyone” of the national project “Education”.

150 scientists, managers and specialists from different Russian regions attended the program, the key feature of which is the use of actual biomonitoring methods. Siberia, the Volga region, the Far East, Central Russia, the North-West of the country - and this is not the whole geography of the participants!

Because of the current epidemiological situation training was organized remotely. The online format does not interfere with the successful implementation of the four modules of the program devoted to the methodology of biological monitoring, the organization of project and research activities on ecology in educational institutions, participation in regional and all-Russian nature-protection and environmental projects, information technologies in environmental education. The audience of the program told about this.

- The format is very convenient, the personal account is clear and easy to use, excellent feedback has been established, - shared Lyudmila Kuznetsova, the associate professor of the Oryol State University named after I.S. Turgenev.

- I especially liked the material on the information and analytical systems “GIS-Les” and “GIS-Ecology”, -

noted Lyudmila Alexandrovna, giving a high assessment to the content of the presented program.

- This part is one of the innovations included in the current program in accordance with the wishes of the last year listeners, - reported Ekaterina Ryabova, the Head of the Department of Ecology and Nature Management, VyatSU. – - In addition to increasing the block on geo information systems, a section on bio indication at the cell level, a workshop on bio testing, materials on the study of plant populations, genetics of rare plant populations are added. Moreover, we introduce listeners to the experience of project activities of students of the Institute of chemistry and ecology of VyatSU and the results of our research work.

Based on the feedback, the audience appreciated the experience presented. Valentin Zaika, professor of the Tuva Institute for the Integrated Development of Natural Resources of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, noted the pronounced ecological orientation of the research. The scientist also noted the excellent equipment of the VyatSU laboratories.

The advanced training program in biomonitoring will be completed by the end of the week - its main result should be the introduction of updated methods into practice. Ultimately, this will help to improve the environmental culture of the population and reduce the level of social tension in issues related to the solution of regional environmental problems.
