The mayor's office hosted a meeting of the working group under the head of the city to prepare this anniversary edition.
- It will be a two-volume book, one part of which is a photo album. The publication includes three sections devoted to different periods in the history of the city: "Primitive Vyatka" (from ancient times to 1780), "Provincial City" (1780-1920s) and "Regional Center" (1930s-beginning XXI century).
Each part will contain a brief historical background, a chronicle of major events, excerpts from documents and information about prominent citizens," the Kirov administration said.
According to Mikhail Sudovikov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of Vyatka State University, the team of authors is completing work on the first section of the book, which will be ready by spring. For the rest, material is also being collected.
Since there is an intention to cover the modern period as much as possible, the deadline has been set until September 2023. In addition to employees of the state archive of the Kirov region, museum workers and historians, the departments of economic development and entrepreneurship, education, the department of culture, youth affairs, physical education and sports will be involved in collecting information.
