Support for the employment of students and graduates with disabilities was discussed at the round table of the VyatSU RMC

The round table "Supporting the employment of students and graduates with disabilities at different stages of professional development" was held on December 8 at the Volga-Vyatka Institute (branch) of the Moscow State Law University named after O.E. Kutafin (MSUA).


The event was attended by employers, representatives of public organizations of the disabled, ROIVs, employment services and universities in charge of training, support and employment of students with disabilities, as well as students and graduates of universities with disabilities.

The event was held in a hybrid format: colleagues and representatives of organizations developing an inclusive culture could join the discussion online.

In his welcoming speech, the director of the Volga-Vyatka Institute (branch) of Moscow State Law Academy Alexander Plotnikov outlined the main goal of the discussion: to identify existing barriers in the employment of people with disabilities and find mechanisms to overcome them. According to the specialist, a certain part of university graduates always experience difficulties after graduation, however, graduates with disabilities face even greater problems - both psychological barriers and difficulties in finding a suitable job.

The round table discussed the mechanisms, technologies and problems of supporting the employment of young people with disabilities at different stages of their professional development.

Alla Sosnovshchenko Vladimirovna, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Labor and Entrepreneurial Law of the Moscow State Law Academy, made a presentation on social guarantees for ensuring the rights of people with disabilities in employment.

The participants discussed the Law of the Russian Federation "On Employment in the Russian Federation", namely the amendments to Article 13.2. "Establishment of a quota for the employment of persons with disabilities", which entered into force on March 1, 2022.

Denis Konychev, PhD in History, Associate Professor of the Department of State and Legal Disciplines of the Moscow State Law Academy, spoke about the requirements for an accessible environment for educational institutions, Ivan Glinchikov, Chairman of the Lenin Regional Organization of the All-Russian Society of the Disabled (VOI), explained how NGOs promote the employment of young people with disabilities.

In turn, Irina Penkina, consultant of the Department of Employment, Active Employment and Labor Migration Programs of the Department of the State Social Protection Fund of the Kirov Region, described the features of the implementation of the program for accompanying young people with disabilities in obtaining vocational education, as well as assistance in subsequent employment in the region.

Representatives of the RMC Vyatka State University made a presentation on the practices of interaction between the university and employers, accompanied by young people with disabilities.


Disabled graduates of Vyatka State University Stepan Poskrebyshev and Alexander Mukshitsky spoke at the round table. Young specialists told how the individual trajectory of professional development of graduates with disabilities is built and what problems they face in practice.
